Hi I bought a Pyramid Tuscany awning with my caravan which I believed was an all weather awning. I have been advised by a caravan dealer that my awning isn't all weather. I live in my caravan and want to make sure the awning is suitable for all weather. any advice please. what is the difference between all weather and not all weather. I believe mine is acrylic and all weather are polyester. What would happen to my awning if I just left it up over winter. Thanks
Have a look at the Eurovent Montreaux. We had one last year and it was fantastic. Recommended by the makers Trigano, that it is an all season awning designed for the Alps (didn't try that) and is made out of a rubber type fabric similar to the material the wheel skirt is made from. It has really sturdy, strong poles but we did add an extra couple, a ceiling cover that makes the awning look real cosy and also helps prevent condensation. We found it a fabulous awning and reasonably priced. We got ours from Jeff Bowen Awnings and found they were very helpful. Unfortunately there aren't many showrooms where you can view them but I would recommend trying to find one. We no longer have our (sited) tourer so no need for an awning.
An all weather awning means it is the ultimate robust type which is designed and constructed to with stand heavy rain without pooling on the roof, has sewn in storm straps for attaching straps and springs in extreme windy conditions and will have material that will expand and contract with the warm and cold temperatures. They are more expensive to purchase which is why they are used for permanent residence rather than a temporary one. Bradcot make one called the 'Residentia' model and Dorema make one called the 'Exclusive' model.
Hi Thank you for your replies. Tango55 we have had some severe rain and wind over the last couple of weeks and my awning has stood up to it really well. I spoke to a guy from Cambells caravans Leyland he was very helpful he said to bide my time with my Pyramid and wait until the right awning at the right price comes along. He advised all weather awnings are made from a material which is easier to clean unlike mine where you can only use water. Thank you once again I will keep you posted.
hi all
dorema do a few like the garda, garda deluxe and the garda 270,
then there is the Octavia, exclusive and the royal these are all seasonal awnings designed for that purpose
the cameo range is a basic touring awning not recommended for seasonal and the same for the Daytona which is doremas flagship touring awning however people do use this as a seasonal not recommended as its not classed as one but has a 25mm frame so is quite strong
