Bought a new Outwell Nevada MP just over a month ago, only used twice. When we were about to take down at the weekend, we noticed one of the sides looked rather wet and was wet inside. Other areas of the tent had droplets of water on. We waited for the tent to dry before taking down. Are these damp patches normal?
I've emailed the retailer who said they would need to send to the manufacturer to look at and they would either repair or replace, or the retailer can arrange a full refund as they don't have any in stock. Our dilemma is, if we ask for a refund, I'm struggling to find another in stock and if we arrange to send back to the manufacturer, and they 'repair' what will they do and how long will it take. In the meantime, we are left without a tent to use.
Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
It was raining however, other parts of the tent had water droplets on it and the rain just rolled off. This side of the tent looked like the photos. We delayed taking it down until totally dry but I don't think it should have gone like that. However, I am no expert on tents, hence me asking for advice. Thanks
It is common to get the odd small patch which looks damp and that isn't usually anything to worry about but if the whole panel looks damp on a new tent then that is certainly not normal. That looks bad to me.
On a new tent the rain should bead and run off very easily all over. When it stops raining the beads may remain but most can be shaken off. A few, small, damp looking patches may remain but not an entire panel. I would want my money back on that one.
That will cause condensation on the inside because cold water is soaking in on the outside and staying there rather than running off.
