I have seen some older posts on here about tent carpets but I'm looking for a hexagonal carpet for my Royal Montpellier 9 and wondered if there are any new sources etc? I'm aware that my tent is no longer produced so if anyone knows an equivalent tent sizewise that would be great!

Hi, someone asked this question a few years ago (just did a google search to see if i could find one for you) and in the end they went with plastic backed picnic rugs which actually sound great! Can be put where you want, easy to wash, cheap, comfy and can move them about where you want! I might even get a couple.

Picnic Rugs also move around on their own and form trip hazards

We have used picnic rugs in small tents and just use Velcro to keep them in place

I have a gelert seabury 8 carpet which is a large hexagon, we used it in the 4m bell tent and folded under in a couple of other tents. Should really get it out and check it over to put it up for sale as haven't used it since upgrading to real carpet.

The H & S police are out again

You could say the same for kerbs, tree routes, kids toys, grass...the list goes on. I think if you walk with your eyes open it can be a cheap easy and transferable option to use picnic rugs. We have numerous rugs in our bell tent with young children. Had no trip issues to date. Seem to have plenty of other peoples children tripping over our guylines though!

I hate the mention of trip hazards, my hubby has overused the phrase as an excuse to hammer all pegs to Australia and every time I've confronted him he on this he quotes
'they are a trip hazard'
'Hello? they are holding the guy ropes what do you think they are?'
'yes but they won't hurt some ones foot'
'well they'll learn not to walk so close to our tent quite quickly then'
I think after our last camp where everyone walked so close to our tent for absolutely no reason (we were the only tent on that patch of grass, it wasn't even a short cut and most of them were adults!) he also does not care so much about the well being of space invaders!

I completely agree. People need to use some common sense and stop relying on other people to do it for them.
