Okay, complete newbie question. For reference, I haven't been camping for 25 years, used to love it. Just pulled the trigger on the Coleman Galileo 5 bundle from Millets.
Anyhoo, I already have an Outwell Dreamcatcher double SIM which is excellent and i'm wondering whether it would be worth elevating this on two campbeds. I don't even know if this is possible or practical. I prefer to be a bit higher up.
Alternatively I am unsure what to put underneath the SIM if I don't elevate it. I might go for some cheapy, thick duvets to put down to keep it a bit warmer and softer underfoot.
Plus, on a wider note, i'm rather intimidated at the thought of all the gear I now need to buy, I know I will forget something! Oh well, spirit of camping but I do need to keet a 7 year old entertained as I am a single parent.
Excited and daunted in equal measure!

Kampa do a similar one here just make sure you have enough room in the bedroom pod as some tend to slope at the end leaving a tall bed touching the tent.
I was talking to my nephew, my sister and brother in law camp often, and I know they messed about a lot with bed options and he reckons a SIM on top of an airbed is the way to go! I know they have a couple of Intex Airbeds.
Is he winding me up?! I am so naive to this it's unreal!

We use two sims each, one on top of the other, and we don't tend to put anything underneath them. If we do, it's the foam interlocking tiles you can buy. We've found sims don't get cold like air beds do.

I would think the SIMs could slide of an airbed quite easy if not fastened on well, we still need to tie the SIMs on to our childrens camp beds as they tend to move about a lot at night.
