I was looking for some advice. We currently have a Lichfield Sandwood 4+2. It is a great tent, and is the perfect size when pitched for our longer stays. The problem with it is the size of the bag when packed. It is huge and takes up a lot of room. Now I know I could spilt it down but that could give rise to losing bits.. And will do my OCD no good at all (that's. Joke btw) but does any one know if there is a tent of similar size and standard that packs away into a smaller package for the car?
78cm x 51cm doesnt seem that big for a 6 berth tent. Although thats the manufacturers figures so if your like us there is not way it will go back into that size
With out awning the straps are near the ends of their travel and the zip is fairly tight. When we bought it there was a fold near the zip. Seems they know you wont get it back in afterwards

Vacuum bag the whole tent! Think you'll be lucky to get something much smaller of the same quality fabric.
thanks for the responses guys. yes i might try the vacuum packing. have to say it is no where near the manufacturers advised size! even with years on military experience of packing things up as small as possible... it struggles to go back in the bag supplied. i am also thinking of the roof box option....
the main issue i think its that it comes in one double decker bag, where as others i have seen seem to come in 2 seperate bags.
