The grill on my caravan oven (2020 caprise) is giving off a very strong burning plastic smell. I have examined and cleaned all areas of the grill and oven. I have ensured that no pipes or plastic are against the body of the cooker, the smell is still very strong.
Any ideas welcome.

do the grill burners vent through a slot between the top gas rings. If it does then something plastic might have fallen down onto the top of the grill burner. I had the same problem turned out one of the silicone pan trivet supports had got down the gap. Hell of a smell but burnt it self out.

Hi Pnefan,
The grill does vent between the burners, and that was my initial thought. Had the grill on for 30 mins today to try and clear it, venting van now and will try again tomorrow, but it still smells strong at the moment.

cheesystraw, If it is one of the silicon pans supports that hold the pan trivet in the hob top it will smell for some time before it dissipates ( I say this from experience). Do the trivets have silicon grommets and is one missing if they dont at least it eliminates that possible explanation
