They must have been planning the recall for a while as I exchanged a cylinder 3 weeks ago on 3rd September and was supplied with a replacement dated 2011 which has a hole punched in the tare weight collar indicating that it had been checked and passed as ok.
At least they will get the cylinders back for refills which are no longer in use and these might then appear for sale on the secondhand market once they have been refilled for free.
I am a calor stockist and this would also explain why,3 weeks ago Calor rang me to see exactly how many full and empty lite bottles i had in stock. They'll have monitored supply since the shortage making sure everything i've received has been checked making it nigh impossible for me to claim for bottles that were returned empty anyway before the recall became public.

Left our van at our dealers this weekend for its 1st service. I pointed out that both calor lite bottles in the vans front locker were bottles that fell into the calor recall policy. The service department showed no interest in this matter!
Surely the vans annual service must include some kind of gas check, but not holding much hope of the gas bottles being replaced.
Gas check, yes, bottle check, wouldn't think so. Purely down to the owner.

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Best regards
were the bottles supplied via the service centre ? if not return to the shop or dealer you normally use . our service centre has to have the gas bottles removed before they accept them . but they still do a gas SYSTEM check
Hope you have all got your bottle exchanges sorted!!!!!!!!
Talking to one of my Calor stockists today he has no new bottles, Calor do no have any either and he cannot get any exchange vouchers from Calor either so he is inlimbo.
Believe theres a shortage of these Calor lite bottles in some parts. We picked a new 6kg one up from Northern Caravans Warrington on Thurs gone - if anyone is stuck and within travelling distance to them , he had another 18 in stock.
