We are always safety conscious when travelling through France & Italy, having had an attempted break-in in my old VW camper in 2002. With a new Eldiss Signature on the way, we're looking at a habitation door security lock. Tyne Valley will fit the Fiamma's Safe Door Guardian, but I can't see that it operates from the inside as well as the outside. As well as securing the door when we are away from the vehicle, we want to have a device that locks from the inside as well. The Milenco security door lock seems to fit the bill - any other suggestions or comments?

May depend on what handles you have on the inside - our Autosleeper has a pathetic back door lock, but it has a sturdy loop on the door and also on the side of the fridge by the steps: I do know some owners make a simple metal gadget with a loop at either end that drops into both handles. (We have pondered a bike lock here.) And a ratchet tie between the passenger and drive doors if there's a loop there too.

I wouldn't fit one personally. You will stand out from the crowd and potentially attract theives who perceive you are protecting valuable contents.

Given all the windows and window catches are plastic they'll get in if they want to. Thankfully those that do are very fee and far between.

For peace of mind, I think we're going to go with the Milenco door lock as it allows a quick exit if needed. Has anyone ever found a UK supplier of the WOMO-Knackerschreck cab door device?
