Just been to see one of these in the flesh as it were. Salesman demonstrated putting it up and taking it down.

It was a Kampa 260 I think.

It would seem these really are as easy as they look and all the blurb says.

How do you go on for Storm Straps? Anyone whose got one how are they in windy conditions to erect, to de-erect and for stability once erected?

Best Regards

David

We have a Sunncamp Rotund air 360. It is very easy to put up and take down. Storm straps are attached which makes it ok in windy conditions. One problem we have found is that it only works well on level ground because of the inability to adjust the height, as you are able to do with a frame.

Thanks for that tip sjr66.

We are thinking about getting an air awning, but had not thought about the uneven ground bit
More though needed I think.

Lobey
I have the kampa rally air 260 which fits my Conway Cruiser perfectly.
I bought it last year and have used it 5 times now on different sites, some slightly sloping.
I have no problems with the alignment of it.

Very sorry to have to run kampa air awnings down ,I have just purchased a kampa air 260 from a couple who have never used it as they brought a caravan one not a motor home one. It's looks brill but don't let the looks fool you .what goes up easily also comes down easy.
We put the awning up ,nice and easy ,went out for the day came back and the awning was on the floor .blew it up again went down again.
Turned off the inside valves then only the main beam went down.
The valve is obviously faulty..
If anyone can tell me how to get hold of kampa fir a new valve and washer I would be so grateful . I have searched online but they seam uncontainable. The way it is and how much I have paid think I woukd go back to the poles version again. It really does not look good for Kampa when everyone sees on the sites this awnig flat on the floor.

They come with a spare valve when you first buy them.
Gary at Cross camping will probably be able to source one for you.

I purchased a campa rally air pro 390 looked great at the show at the nec It took 3 months to arrive we finally used it had a couple of leaks around the awning rail we thought it was because it was new so used it again about 3 months later had a lot of rain and a lot of leaks so we dried it out and later in the week it rained again and we found 11 leaks so we took it back and got a refund.
on the site were we lasted used it a fellow caravaner had a brand new 260 kampa air and to my surprize it leaked in all the same places as mine my advice is its a great idea but give it a wide birth until all the problems are sorted with the construction.

What is the expected lifespan of an air awning compared to poles, my Inaca Elba 250 is 14 years old and still looks great.
My brother sent his air awning back after finding loads of leaks.
Only time will tell.
