long term damage will occur to charger and mains consumer unit as generators pulse thus causing a varied un constant supply.I once had to repair a 2004 abbey that customer had run a generator on each time they used it and it finally caused consumer to burn out causing charger to follow and also had to replace some wiring..They also wondered why they were also forever changing bulbs in there lighting.now they will not use a generator at all.Does not happen all the time but risk is there.Hope this helps

A caravan centre worth there salt would and should advise the use of generators on caravans and motorhomes,But most will not risk losing a £600+ sale of a generator by giving some advice,but im afraid my company(which i own)would rather not sell a item just to get money in till,without giving all pros and cons 1st.I like happy customers who come back time and time again.Most people are not told of pros and cons by the seller, but then  i guess that is down to each individual sale and sometimes greed by the seller
