Hi, I need a new trailer. My old one has served me well but needs replacing. I have considered rebuilding it but at 3 feet by 5 feet it is becoming a bit small. I have been looking at some Eastern European manufactured ones which are 6 feet by 4 feet on that well known auction site. They are priced between £500 and £800. Has anyone bought one of these? If so are they well made? and are they easy to use e.g. loading and unloading? Any comments welcome.
Cheers
Bert.

Hi Bert
If you live anywhere near North Walsham pop in and see Phil Bailey at Marineweld on the industrial estate he will make you one to your own spec for a sensible price using all good components I got mine from him and I am well pleased with it. He makes trailers for all sorts of folk including the local dive teams etc boat trailers horse boxes you name it he can make it.
I know it's not a trailer but if you look in my profile his firm did all the metal work on that boat and hundreds more beside including work on two RLNI training boats Hardy marine made whilst I worked there.

Hi Bert.
Any chance of a link to the seller, David's tip for bespoke would be the perfect solution if the price is within budget.

A decent branded 6x4 Trailer with top and propper high sides is going to be at least £1,500 of the shelf I would expect.

On such a Trailer I would be looking at 13" Wheels and "A" Frame design.

Depending on the tow vehicle, for a Trailer of that size, you may need to consider a Braked model.

Although my Trailer is rated at 750KG, the firms Mk6 VW BlueMotion 1.6TDi Golf that I drive is rated to just 650kg for an unbraked Trailer, and when the car gets changed over next year for a Mk7 that will drop to 630kg.

My Trailer fully loaded at the moment tips the scales at 600kg, so might have to start thinking about Braked.
