Sorry if this is a numbnut question, however my awning size states 8.82 cm I have seen awnings sized at 900cm, I understand it is slightly oversize but what effect would one of 900 have on the installation etc? kind regards
You would have a flapping awning at that size, the size you need for an 882 A measurement is 875cm. If you bought the 900 the sides would be loose and give no tension in the roof leading to large heavy puddles of water collecting in the corners when it rains.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
thanks for that Bill so I should go down rather than up I guess, not to sure I have to worry about licence eligibility as I pased my car test in 1965, kind regards

I kept having to repeat myself over and over, so I put it in my signature. The message may eventually get through to those it is aimed at.😄😄
An 875 awning is designed to fit rails between 862 and 887 so would be an almost perfect fit on your van.

ar! I understand where your coming from now,
I have the possibility of an awning at 870cm as its 5cm/2in shorter thus an inch at each end would I be correct in assuming this would be O.K, I am aware you state 875 and appreciate this but just asking as the vendor is pretty close to me , kind regards
Your 870 awning is designed to fit rails that measure from 858 to 873cm. If your caravan is within this range it will fit.

strange that the smaller only has a tolerance of 15cm yet the larger a tolerance of 25cm, most confusing, kind regards
I am having senior moments there, the range should be 25cm so the 870 awning will fit an 883 rail.

thanks once again Bill, the 'A' measurement on the one I shall look at this weekend is 28ft.6 ins
metric conversion is 8.6868 132mm about 5" short so maybe not long enough, what do you think pse?, kind regards
