I agree Martyn (..and we've used and still use them)

But the report that NickH linked to, is pulling them up for faulty valves, and not the risk of "over hanging" pans..

We are users and fans of these types of stoves(..a couple of ours must be nearing 10 years old?)...but some that are being sold now are noticeably "cheap'n' nastier"....

(having said that, we've always steered clear of the unbranded-Sunday Market stall types...)

..and if the manufacturers can/have cut back on the noticeable quality - such things as the main body and pan support etc- I suppose it is feasible that some would also be cutting back when it comes to the quality of the valve work..?

..and as NickH says, the ones sold here will probably come out of the same factories as the ones in Oz...

It'll be interesting to see if this filters through/across......
