hi
We are considering buying a 3 way fridge but I am wondering if there is a way of using our one gas bottle with the fridge and stove at the same time or would we have to take another bottle
Yes, we use the "Y" fitting as saxo posted, along with quick release couplings, so that we can opt to just use the one "spur", without having to undo jubilee clips and pull apart hoses/fittings.
Totally agree with everything already stated. It however I found it a bind with all that tubing and the two appliances being tied together. It allows you to have a fridge and a stove on sites without power. Yes they still exist! If I was doing it regularly I would use quick release valves but I was doing a quick trip that didn't merit a big outlay..
the quick releases are not a huge outlay they can be had on ebay for under a £5ver each im thinking of doing one on my regulators to save having to undo the jublie clip when i swap between brands of bottle
Have you a picture of your link up with the quick release couplings, I have my two attached together with a fulham Y connector, and am interested in the ability to take them apart easily. Do you simply connect them with a small peice of tube, and when disconnected I assume no gas comes out.

Hi.. sorry no photo but Yes, I just attached my QR fittings by using short(3"?) bits of hose, lemon clipped onto my Y fitting..
( 1 male fitting on the "stem"/inlet and female fittings on the 2 "fork"/outlets)..and yes. the female fittings do shut off when they are uncoupled...
..it's not very elegant, and I did initially try to source fittings that could be threaded together, so I wouldn't need the bits of hose... but with no luck..
I have 3 bits of gas equipment I out tails on each one, fridge, cadac and double burner, a 2 metre length of pipe from regulator and then a t - piece leading to 1 metre lengths with quick release couplings on the ends, these can be "hot" swapped without turning the gas off from regulator, I don't use more than 2 items a time as I don't really ever need to, mainly used for 2 cookers and 3 way fridge is on EHU but gas ready in case of pending Armageddon or a power cut! It's quite a good system and not massively expensive, maybe £20 all in and allows plenty of freedom with positioning and usage etc.
I'll happily make one up for you for cost if you like. Would take a few days to get parts though.
I'll pop some pictures up when I get a bit of time later.

Cheers shopping time, ive plenty of hose left just 2 QRs to buy.
Probably a bit belt'n'braces, but I use 3 so that I could totally remove the Y when I'm only likely to use the one appliance..
(..as although they shut-off, I have no idea how durable/reliable an unused "live" end would be after it's been kicking about in the shed/garage for a few years...).
