Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone could recommed any non electric camping showers. Looking to get one this year but not a lot of feedback/reviews available.
the only half reseaonable way of a diy camping shower is to use a killerspray bottle, the sort you have for gardening, and put the hot water in that and get the pressure up but you will have to keep pumping the thing to keep the pressure, best done with help!
those solar showers are a complete waste of time, even in a heat wave it can take all day to get lukewarm water from them
I have a solar shower that I use as a means to gain some free warm water. They are pretty useless as a shower as the bag is extremely heavy and needs hoisting high in order to get a good pressure and it needs attaching to something very strong, like a tree branch, which is not much use to shower under!
However, I find if I half fill mine and then throw it on my car roof, by mid afternoon I have enough warm water for a good strip wash. I stand in a large trug which catches the water for disposal. To wash my hair I lean over the trug and I use a jug to rinse my hair.
You are probably better off boiling some water in a kettle and using it to have a good strip wash and ditch the whole shower idea!
We bought a pump action one ( like the one described by kazo2014) from Amazon - I think it was around £25. Excellent piece of kit - a kettlefull of boiling water topped up to the 4.5 litre mark with cold water gives enough for a good shower. The pressure does need to be topped up halfway through but its really easy to do.
Or 12v camping shower can be used with car battery or 4 D batteries just add hot water, Fire bucket, kettle of hot water, add cold until preferred temp. Small poundland padding pool makes a good shower tray. Hot showers for all the family.
