Based on the reviews I found on this site, I've just bought a s/hand Ambience Peridot Air Tent and since this is my first inflatable, I wanted to establish what the recommended pressure should be for the air bladder. I'm guessing about 10psi.
The tent came without a pump, so I bought a 2 litre double action hand pump in Halfords for £7, but since I tour by motorcycle, rather than take the bulky manual pump, I'm going to see if a regular tyre valve from the local tyre centre will be large enough to plug in the neck of the Boston fitting so I can inflate the tent bladders using a mini tyre compressor.
Failing that, I'll be asking a friend who happens to have an engineering lathe, to turn me a Schrader valve to Boston valve adapter. Either way, I obviously want to avoid over inflating the bladders.
So my question is; am I correct in assuming 10psi for the bladder pressure please?
Remember tyre pumps (the little 12v ones) don't move hardly any air (bulk fill) they might well pump up to 250psi but only move 1cubic foot of air a minute

Cheers.
So, that's a non-starter then.
I'm beginning to wonder if air tents are really the future after all.
Are there any foot pumps up to the task?
According to the salesman at a caravan dealer nr Catterick who I asked about using my Halfords compressor to inflate an Air awning you MUST NOT EXCEED 12 psi.
12 psi is the optimum and maximum safe pressure for the awning he was demonstrating to us which from memory was a Kampa one with a single inflation point.
OK folks, I've bitten the bullet and purchased a 12v electric Vango Airbeam Pump.
Found a supplier selling the pumps at £59.99 and have to say, even though it cost nearly double what I actually paid for the tent, I still think the two items together represent a camping bargain.
The pump and fittings come in a handy, but large heavy duty nylon zip bag with a handle (25cm x 30cm x 20cm). This is way to big to pack on the motorcycle, however the plumbing and cabling fit easily in the top box with the tent and I can fit the pump unit comfortably in a side pannier as on its own, it's about the size of a small shoebox ( (17cm x 12cm x 27cm).
I was worried it might be very loud in use, but it is far less noisy than the Bravo I saw on a YouTube clip and it inflates the Ambience Peridot Air Tent to 8psi in 2 minutes - effortlessly!
