OK... I am a really pedantic old fart... fact!

Some years ago I bought a 2m x 2m olive green pent utility tent from Argos. I do not have a photo of it up (grhhh!).

It is my home-from-home kitchen; when I put it up people think it is going to be a loo. How wrong!

This is an amazing tent that can withstand all weathers, despite being as aerodynamic as a brick

But... drum roll... where can I get a replacement?

I am seriously worried that obsolescence management will beat me and this ageing tent will rip before I can find a replacement.

Lastly... when on offer, this fantastic little tent cost about £35

We have one of those too, we've had to have the poles re welded but it's a fab piece of kit - not seen them about for ages though

Hi Debs

The poles on mine are fine, but I fear that the fabric is getting a little old. Seeing as I cook in it with a dual-burner petrol stove, and have done so for 7 years, and considering the amount of use the zips get traipsing in and out to the fridge and to make tea etc. I am amazed it has put up with so much.

Does anyone have any ideas for a similar tent currently available? I need it to be reasonably 'square' and tall enough to stand in comfortably (6 ft).

I was camping in a group at the weekend and friend brought one of these

It sounds close to what you're looking for and stood firm in some high gusting winds. ( has a part mesh floor so it can be used as a shower tent)

Mine is definitely grease splattered from those fantastic full English breakfasts, just glad it's in that rent and not my main tent. Good luck finding one
