Hi newly joined member so I apologise for any breach of protocol.
Planned renovating an old caravan gas light as a project and bought one on Ebay. It was missing ceramic mantle support called a No 1 clay. searches on internet have proved fruitless. No 2 clays are plentiful and ddespite firms making the mantles no one seems to make the support.
Any ideas gratefully received.

Regards Norseman

Thanks for info I tried the site but expensive mantles available but no ceramic supports.
Sellers on ebay state that mantles are rare. Not so Auerlich make them and are available through Wilmonds and Base-Camp.Suggs Lighting sell No 2 supports but it appears No 1 clays are very rare so anybody out there with such a lamp be VERY careful.
Happy Camping

Good to see another gas lighter on here! It may be possible to convert to a No.2 from a No.1 if you can post a picture of the lamp and it's fitting I may be able to help. I restore gas lighting equipment so should have some parts that will do the job!

A bodger after my own heart. As No1 clays are rare and No2 clays are available from Suggs lighting I thought of converting. I have a brass fitting with No2 thread and a pal who will tap No1 thread to make adaptor. I have a supply of No2 mantles from a shop clearout. Many thanks for the offer not up to photos on net maybe daughter can help.

Regards Ray
