Does anyone out there use electric halogen swivel heaters to heat up their tents,have been given a couple, never had heating in our tent so was wondering if they give out enough heat or our the electric fan heaters better

Personally we ditched ours in favour of a fan heater as we found the halogen ones struggled to heat our tent. It was fine if you were sitting right in front if it but was pretty useless at heating vast areas of chilly air!
I tried the halogen heater in my caravan (which is tiny!) and it struggled to even heat that sufficiently so it is fan heaters all the way for us.
The down side to fan heaters is the noise but you soon get used to the hum and it is a small price to pay to be toasty warm!

Thanks Helen for that,I had a feeling they might not be up to much,we started camping 5 years ago & have finally wimped out and bought electric hook ,thoughtit might extend the season for us,so I'm off to buy a couple of fan heaters

Also halogen heaters dont like vibration or been dropped fan heater with a thermostat every time
