We've got our first trip of the year booked for early June and I'm trying to sort the last of the bits we need. I need to get sims for our three kids and cost and bulk are both issues. The children are 6,4 and 2-will they be ok on cheap as chips 2.5cm ones? The husband and I have a 10cm one so feel a bit guilty...
Alternately, does anyone know when Aldi will have their 5cm sims out again?
They'll be fine on 2.5cm ones i'm sure, my youngest daughter is almost 15 although small for her age and still sleeps on a 2.5cm sim. I've offered countless times to buy her a thicker one but she insists she finds hers perfectly comfortable. Kids don't feel the lumps and bumps like we do
Thanks, that's really useful to know. I think I'll go for cheap ones as they will fit in the car better too, then can always upgrade later if they complain!
Wow, they are good prices, thanks. I think I'm still going to go with thin ones for the kids-to keep the pack size down in the car as much as anything else. I bet I get turfed off my 10cm vango and onto one of theirs and live to regret this decision!
I think I'm going to try and attach them together somehow to make one big mat so at least the one in the middle has a chance of staying in it all night :)
They will fine! They are only little so weigh virtually nothing. You can always put a folded blanket on top if one kid complains. My youngest sleeps on his 2.5cm at cubs on a concrete floor lol!
My middle son has asked for an air bed now, but he's nearly 14, and 5ft 5 tall.
