I've just ordered two Gelert Bliss 4 carpets which are currently on offer for £7.49 each as the tent we have bought (Berghaus Air 8) doesn't have a carpet. For £15, I figured I could sew them together or perhaps velcro or something?
Anyone else done the same and what method did you use?!
if you use Velcro you still have to sew so why not just join them and be done with it instead of making things harder for yourself? Velcro isn't easy to stich you know
Have a similar setup in our current tent, with eyelets and mushroom pegs to hold it down as we don't have a SIG.
Kept it in two halves so as to keep the pack sizes down
I did the same. i doubled up my thread and did and invisable stitch. This stopped having a lump in the middle because you sew them butted up rather than over lapped if that makes sense. Did that 4 years ago and its still going strong x

This is what I was thinking - to avoid the lump in the middle. With velcro I thought I could stitch a piece of fabric underneath on the joining edge of one of the blankets so that the other piece could be laid on top to butt up against it, with velcro sewn on the bit where it overlaps.
When you say you doubled up your thread and did an invisible stitch, what do you mean? I've never done one before! I'm guessing you did it by hand rather than on the machine?
Oh I've just google image searched it and I now know roughly what you mean! Did you take the edging off or leave it on? I suppose it's easier to leave it on, something to stitch with.
