For those members that use Safefill cyliners, it's reasonably well known that the map on the Safefill site is somewhat out of date.

I have created a map that members can update with their direct knowledge of where to fill, the cost & date (if known). Ideally include an address with a postcode please.

Please prefix the name of attended service locations with (A)

Safefill Filling Locations

Regards,

Stephen

Can I ask a possibly stupid question. I have a Safefill and as instructed have part filled it. I have used about half of the first fill and want to top it up. Can I simply connect it to the LPG pump and let it fill as far as it will? I mean will the pump stop when the safefill is full?

-------------
We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.

The Safefill website can be found in the link below which there is a phone number and e-mail address so why not get the right answer you are looking for direct from company themselves. It's much better and safer receiving the right advice than getting peoples opinions on a forum.

I have a Safefill cylinder.

The answer to your question is YES it will cut off when the it has filled at I believe 80% capacity.

This is why you should only use a properly constructed cylinder and not try and fill an old Calor or similar, they don’t have the 80% fill float valve.
Bye the way, there is no such thing as a stupid question, ask away every time, otherwise you will never know the answer.

I don't think that map has been updated for several years. We needed to refill and went to several different places and on most occasions, the place did not exist!
Morrisons now allow filling up where they offer the LPG service. The problem is that LPG cars are no longer around so LPG outlets are closing down.

We are considering getting a safefil canister when we change our van next week.
Do other lpg stations, not on ther list, tend to let you refill or not?
Morrison's is great as plenty around and tend to be good pumps but would like to have more options.
Also what's it like in Europe with regards to refilling do they allow it at service stations?
We use an app to find lpg stations for our lpg/petrol run van at the moment and generally it works well.

When we did go to France, a couple of years ago, we found lpg easier to find than here at service stations just wondered if they allow canisters to be refiled?

Thanks in advance

Morrisons have quite a few petrol stations around, but not many have an LPG pump unfortunately.

Just a word of caution.   I have 2 Safefill bottles, I tend to use them by emptying them completely then refilling.   The last 2 times I have refilled one of the bottles I don’t think that the cutoff has worked and I have manually stopped the pump. This is not much of a problem for me because being empty I know how much should go in. But if I was topping up then I might not realise.
