i have just bought a Vermont XL the poles are very heavy. What do other people do to transport them? Do I keep them in the back and put them above the axle in the trailer or lay the out in the bed of the trailer to even the load out!!!!
------------- Looking to try every other weekend away
August/ - France
Heavy items should go over axle of trailer but you can keep poles in bag, its not that critical but if you are worried put poles in centre of trailer & pack around them.
If it helps I have the XLP so a little heavier, tent over the axle and poles in their bag right in front, they are the heaviest items in the trailer...
What Id like are two good alternative bags for the poles so that I can split the weight in two for ease of moving
We always travel with the tent poles across the childrens foot well in front of the rear axle of the car itself so easy to access on arrival, the canvas is the last thing to go in the boot for the same reason.
Our trailer has a table either end and the chairs at the sides then the camp beds are put to the front of the axle with all the bedding, clothes, SIMS, carpet etc to fill. Yes I'm missing kitchen gear in the trailer as it all goes in the rear of the car before the canvas although for our longer holiday the cool box travels in the trailer as we also take the freezer which I prefer to travel in the car.
