I all i have found a full 15kg calor gas bottle at the back of my very untidy shed (i never left it there it was my wifes ex) my question is if i took this to a supplier do you think he would swap it out for 2 7kg bottles as this thing is huge we have a 7kg one and have been using that for the last 3 years and there is still loads of gas left in it so this beast would last for years.
Any help would be great.

I very much doubt it, in my experience they will only swap one for one.

Shouldn't think so, tbh, but you could always ask.

I think he'd only be obliged to change it, full or empty, for one of the other cylinders in Group D.

I have done asked around as suggested and got the reply i thought i might.
Oh well at least i don`t have to worry about another bottle for a few years (might just be the excuse i need to get a trailer)

He will not swap at all, he would probably take it from you and charge you normal refill price for a 7

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

I had accumulated several half full and empty calor bottles over the years where people gave them to us, we picked them up from the tip even.

I advertised them on free camping equipment site on FB and sold the lot within 12 hours.

From memory the half full sold for £20 each and the empty for £10.
