After having just upgraded to an electric dual hob and had its first test run this week, I was so disappointed. Cooks food great, but waiting 20mins to boil a full kettle I can not do when I have 6 hot water bottles to fill! And I don't want an electric kettle as with all the other electrical items I have it will put too much strain being used in conjunction with the electric hob on the total amps being used at one time ....
Re: Electric kettle..
Sorry but why would you still have the double hob on, at the same time as you'd be boiling the kettle for 6 hot water bottles?(which would presumably be at bedtime?)
Besides those hobs hold the heat very well, so even if you were still cooking something, switching it off for a few mins will have very little effect..
(We used an electric hob for a while but I would never have dreamt of using it to boil water on).
The "suitcase" / Bistro stoves are good but the canisters can soon lose their "umph", and can then take a while to boil a kettle(.at which point, we relegate that canister to frying duties..)
