I'm sure lots of peeps will be along to advise, but in the meantime, try out a SIM if you can, if not in Aldi then maybe at a camping store. That way - like buying a bed mattress for home - you can feel what they are like, and how wide and long and deep you might need them. Too narrow and you'll probably fall off. It also depends on whether you are a side or back sleeper and how much padding you like under your hips and shoulders!
I had a 5cm SIM but that was too hard for me, and I also find the 10cm ones can be a bit unforgiving but I am rather a princess and the pea kind of girl...
I know that funds can dictate choice, but being comfy at night is a priority. Good thing about SIMs compared to airbeds is they are warmer.
