Has anyone recently bought or used a Camptech Eleganza Awning. I can't find any reviews online. They appear to be reasonably priced and have quite a good spec. Would appreciate some feedback

I'm looking for the same reviews. There seems to be many online suppliers as well as the option of buying direct, none of which have any reviews posted for the eleganza.
Might need to gamble and get it anyway, though it would be reassuring to have a buyers opinion.
I've a few weeks before buying to do more research. I'll look back here and post if I get one!
Do you have any supplier nearby that you could see it up?
I don't, being in west coast Scotland.

Hi Nineteen, thanks for the contact. No suppliers near me either(I live in South Wales).Been checking on Camptech, they are based in a unit on an industrial estate in Pontefract, West Yorkshire. there is no phone number, no e mail address, no point of contact. Two Chinese directors and one English. They have been up and running for less than a year. Seems to me that Camptech are just an import company, awnings probably made in China(like most other things these days).Unless I can get some reviews I'll probably go for the Dorema Garda 240, a bit more expensive but I'll have peace of mind.
              Regards

Yeah I was looking at the Garda too.
I spoke to camp tech a few days ago to find a near supplier, had quite a big chat with someone (keen for a sale). Found the number easily on their website.
He did say they were made in China and that were cheaper as there were a few middle men cut out as they imported them direct.
I'm undecided, it's strange there's no reviews. Maybe most have been bought direct from camp tech which I don't think have the option of leaving reviews?

Hi again, just to let you know I found a company in West Wales, 3 C's Caravans who do some great deals if you phone them. Cheaper than Dorema prices. Give them a call. Went for the Garda 270, the 240 not in stock until next week. Annexes cheaper as well. Try them.

Hi,
we have one, a size 15.
all weather awning, we have had it sited since the middle of march, took the rain and winds. Only issue is the zips which are sometimes difficult to use. Not sure how they compare with others.
Erecting was not too bad, poles lock together well.
We bought the tall annexe but have only put it on once and found we do not need it so it will be up for sale.

Thanks for the info. Still not sure what to go for....
Try silicone spray on your zips, it's great stuff..

Hi,
since my reply we have had three zips come apart, don't buy one unless they guarantee the zips work.

wow! that's certainly helped me decide what not to buy. Think I'll be going for the Dorema Garda deluxe.
Thanks, Brian..

Hi Ed and Elaine, thanks for the feedback but I have already bought the Dorema Garda 270(Great awning by the way) because of the lack of reviews. Looks like my concerns were well founded. Hope you can solve the zip problem soon.
      Regards, Clive.

Hi we have a camptech eleganza . It's a nice awning but curtains are only thin so I lined them last year .Zips stick really badly and it never seemed tofit our van pproperly. We got it from glossop caravans last may . We have a coachman amara festival which is a 985 so we're told the 975 to 1000 would fit . We rang 3 times last year to say we were unhappy with it were told to raise van on steadies which when we looked at the manual told us not to then we're told to pull it right out at the sizes . 2 pegging straps came off and it ripped in the wind as it was flapping. We went last week and spoke to Paul the manager took a photo and told us it was pegged wrong at the front . Fetch it I and they would see what was wrong tbh don't think they will do anything just using that as an excuse . We have had all our vans from them about 6 and all our awnings. When we came home hubby said don't think we will be buying from them again . Just an honest review from what's happened to ours . We are now looking for a d cent used awning as we wasted 700 on this one . Also glossop have now stopped dealing with camptech ....... I wonder why ?? 😈
