Can any technical bod on here tell me if there is a way of using the A/V out socket on the screen unit to record the picture on a small laptop or something else I can power from the car?
You could look up the USB video capture devices , they come with a few different connections and are less then a tenner so may be worth a shot.
I used to use one for transferring old vid can to pc
Usb end in laptop and connect device and record the feed
They aren't bluetooth. I connected ours to a bigger monitor but the picture wasn't great so I don't think the A/V outlet provides a high quality video.
The camera broke on ours and they wanted £55 to repair it. I switched to a wired system after that.

Your right it's only VGA or QVGA so won't be any good on a big monitor (it actually says that in the manual) but I was hoping it would be good in any accident situation as some drivers do follow bloody close ........
Not good to hear aboit the repair costs ....... Wired on a caravan is a bit of a pain though.
