With correct regulator you can run it on any size or brand of bottled gas. The bigger Calor butane bottles use 21mm clip regulator, different from 4.5kg butane.
At the cadac end it made no difference I could detect. When we initially got our Safari Chef we used Butane (the blue cylinders) and the cadac came with an additional jet thing for the red stuff, which I went and lost.
When we converted to Propane, (the red stuff), I carried on using the original jet thing and it made no difference I could notice. Cadac worked fine on the red stuff without changing the jet thing.
The Cadac Safari chef lp is designed to run off butane or propane without changing the jet, as long as the correct regulator is used...off the top of my head it is 28 mb butane and 37mb propane. This covers the lp ( low pressure ) model. The hp ( high pressure ) model is designed to run off canisters attached directly to the unit and has a different jet. In conclusion, it sounds like you have the Safari chef low pressure model which will run off butane or propane from any size gas bottle, be it calor, flo- gas, campingaz etc as long as you have the correct regulator for the bottle you intend to use.
