Second hand for £250... That could be tricky
Try eBay or gumtree.

Bargain hard.

The only name I consider is Anssems, but that might challenge you'd budget.

Many folk buy a Trailer only to find that after a couple of outings it is to small.

A good method is to lay your kit out on the floor, see how much room it takes up, then add 50% and you won't be far of.

Also were do you intend going, if Europe is on your list, then go for 13" Wheels and "A" Frame Chassis type.

Size wise go as big as you can afford, I would say 5ft x 3ft 6" as an absolute minimum.

That is an optimistic budget for a decent size Trailer I would up that to £500 for used or £1000 for new at the very least.

Having said that £250 would probably get a good condition used small Erde or Daxara Trailer.

I have a very nice Daxara trailer with jockey wheel, lockable lid, tailored rain cover, and spare wheel that l plan to sell mid July after l have used it one last time to help my daughter move back home from her Uni place.

Its been garage stored from new, in lovely condition, l would be looking at around £400 for it, lm confident that the first person who views it will buy it, it is a real bargain, and has been very little used as we are caravanners.

Let me know if you are interested, Pics will be taken and full add will be displayed on here once our daughter is home, as im useless at doing stuff like that on the net!

I would have to check for you as its locked away in the garage, but its either a 137 or a 147 if memory serves me right, its definately no smaller than the 137, and it has built up sides, its also possible to store sleeping bags and soft tent stuff ontop of the flat hard lid which is fitted with the taylor made waterproof heavy gauge cover, which is held down with firm bungee cord and side studs on the trailer.

locking lid for £250 you will be looking at used which will limit your choice but in reality trailers do actually get little use.
Metal branded trailers such as daxara or erde would be favorite in your budget. They are fairly lightweight but perfectly adequate for your plans. I have used an erde 122 for 350kg loads regularly in the past. Wheel bearings eventually but easily replaced.

People will tell you that you need bigger wheels and car sized wheels. That would be good for long trips but such trailers come at a bigger budget.

Get a bigger one than you think you need. Erde 122 or equivalent at least.
