Hi, what do you guys use for your tents when you don't use an awning. I currently use a coleman even shelter 15x15 which is great but I want to get something a bit smaller as it is bulky. Want it for shade and rain proof. Thanks

I bought this to use last weekend at a beer festival.

Myself and my three friends each took backpacking tents and it was perfect for us to use to shelter from the sun and rain.

Steel frame with fibreglass poles to form the roof , it seems very robust.

Tarp for me too....Though I have only once put it over the front of my tent....Usually its over a fire pit somewhere close at hand.....

another thumbs up for a tarp...we often use ours...comes in very useful as well at the end of a holiday whilst taking down the tent...if it's a hot sunny day we leave the tarp up until the last minute as it gives us somewhere to retreat to to cool down a little...

Have you had a look at the Coleman Instant Event Shelter?
It's considerable lighter and quicker to put up than your Coleman Shelter. You can get a groundsheet and walls to add to it if needed.

Not sure of the size, but we've got the Vango event tent. Lovely thing, didn't move in the wind we had at the weekend. Still a bit heavy as its got steel poles.

Sunncamp Day shelter bought 2nd hand mint £30 despite the reviews from others.

Perfectly stood up to some bad weather etc so far.
