I was thinking about getting duvalay toppers for our new twin bed caravan; however question to you ladies out there.... I am worried that because it is memory foam and I shall we say have my own 'tropical heating system going on' that this would make me poach to death. Can anyone tell me if it does make you very hot? I don't want to buy them and then discover I can't use it.
Also, feel it must be simple acronym but can't think of one.... what is a sim (as referred to in posts above not a mobile phone!)
What bedding do you use at home? With a fixed twin bed I would simply make the beds up with the same sort of bedding that you are happy with there.
A SIM is a self inflating mattress and is not needed in a caravan.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
If you are looking for a topper to make it more comfy and without affecting your own individual summer moments, have a look at a feather one. Needs a good shake every couple of days to fluff it up.
I've only used my Duvalay over a long weekend but I didn't get overheated at all. A couple of times I needed to fling my arms and feet out of the covers but that was nothing to do with the foam mattress. Having used a cheapy foam mattress before and not liking it, I am happy to say that the Duvalay was much more comfortable.
Thanks all - Homebird, I think I will give it a go as is to see how hard or not the mattress is; if I feel as if I have kidney damage! I will go for Duvalay. My o/h is a great one for saying buy cheap buy twice, so will take your advice on that one.
I have a memory foam topper in the Motorhome and one I a caravan we use for 'jobs'.
I am a lady of 'certain age' and I do get a bit warm sometimes but throwing the quilt off is easy, I don't think the mem foam has much to do with it.
It's very comfortable tho!
I second the wool toppers and duvets. Keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer :-). I bought mine from baavet.co.uk at home and in our motorhome use the same duvet thickness all year round :-)
Have used the Zonesleep mattress topper and can recommend it for keeping cool at night as well as being comfortable. Recently I stayed in a room with a memory foam mattress and was far too hot.
