HELP I HAVE JUST PUT A DEPOSIT ON A PEUGEOT ESTATE 1.9 DEISEL IT IS A NONE TURBO WITH 18.000 MILES ON THE CLOCK. MY CONCERN IS WILL IT PULL MY PULLMAN F/C MADE IN 1993 EX WORKS 675 CARRYING CAP225
MAX GROSSWEIGHT 900KG MY CARS WEIGHT IS 1065KG WITH 70 BHP
ALL HELP WOULD BE GRATEFUL DONT WANT TO FIT A TOWBALL IF NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
O/H says it could be very under powered with it been the none turbo. You would be better off looking for a turbo version or another tow car that suits your needs better there are plenty of good tow cars out there and you might find a good one with a tow bar already fitted
------------- Do you want a Baileys in that?

Hi undertaker,
welcome to the site. Going off the weights you quote -
(EX WORKS 675 CARRYING CAP225
MAX GROSSWEIGHT 900KG MY CARS WEIGHT IS 1065KG)
- you will be within the 85% recommended maximum - this comes out at 905 Kg, so as long as you don't load more than 230 Kg into the van, that side of it is OK. As to pulling power, I have a 2.0 litre petrol car which pulls a similar load OK, and diesel is reputedly somewhat better than petrol (there are several factors involved), so it should cope. Somebody with diesel experience will probably be able to advise you more.

good towcars peugeot the 1.9 diesel engine is very under rated used to have a citreon bx 1.9 same engine as the peugeot and mine pulled a full trailor of exibition gear to paris no problem at all and still returned 34 to the gallon, good choice of car their
You will have no probs, your folding camper has a lot less air resistance than a caravan, mind you you will be stuffed at the traffic light grand prix!!
However, I have a turbo diesel peugeot 306 and to be honest I dont find it in anyway more powerful than my last non turbo diesel. In fact it simply eats MORE diesel...
Welcome!
