Just bought a safari chef with a pizza stone. The instruction book tells you to look at the instructions for the pizza stone on how to use it. There are no instructions.

I know that it lays on top of the grill bbq rack but nothing else. Any ideas?

Thanks

To cook with the pizza stone you need the bottom deflector plate, wire grid and then the pizza stone on top.  Always put it on cold and heat it up, never put a cold stone on a hot stove otherwise it may crack.  Don't have the gas too high or the bottom of the pizza will burn before the topping is cooked.  Sprinkle flour on before you put the pizza on as well to stop it sticking.  It cooks best if you put the lid on too.

They recommend not washing it in soapy water as the stone can absorb the fragrance.  I leave it to cool, scrape off any burnt or stuck bits then wipe with clear warm water.

It's a great bit of kit and revolutionised our mealtimes.  You can't beat pizza when you get the beer munchies!

Sounds like the pampered chef bakestones with the no wash up rule -if so bear in mind it will discolour and season ( get a bit oily). I love them in my oven but don't have one for the safari chef ( yet) also the base will scratch so beware where you put it.
Don't know if Pampered Chef have any more advice on their site, may be worth a check?

I have successfully used the metal plate to heat a bought pizza. Only takes a few minutes at lowest setting.

I also cook oven chips in the plate but you need a little extra oil and turn them 4 times to cook all round

On the larger Cadac carri chef 2, I put the pizza stone on the bbq grid. Heat it up. When stone is nice and hot turn cadac down to lowest heat. Put supermarket pizza on stone and cook on low setting for 10 minutes with lid on. That's what works for me.

Sorry, I informed you wrong and can't edit the post. You also need the top deflector plate (so you're basically placing the pizza stone on top of the BBQ set up).

Here is a photo of the instructions that came with mine:
