Morning all.

After another night camping where I've written very early in the morning to find my arse touching the floor I've decided that I'm fed up with inflatable mattresses.

Thinking of moving to a camp bed and SIM.

I would appreciate any recommendations. In terms of my size, for what is worth I'm about five foot eleven and about 88kg.

Hubby is 6ft and probably a similar weight (although I truly have no idea how much he weighs) and he is happy on a Kampa slumber plus camp bed with an Aldi 5cm SIM.

I have a steel framed with X legs from Argos about £35 and a 10cm Gelert Adventure SIM which is very comfortable and wide enough to turn around on. The space underneath is useful too, and there's no doubt its warmer.

The downside is the pack sizes are bulky.

If I hadn't already invested in the above set up I would be tempted to get a carp fishing chair with adjustable legs instead. There's even a compatible quilt with toggles to keep it in place. Pricey though!

I got both the camp bed & SIM from Aldi last year (& another one this year). My mate who's about the same size, not sure about weight, as you, found it comfortable when he tried it out. When camping, it was the most comfortable & warmest nights sleep I'd ever had. I used a bottom sheet & attached it to the SIM & bed & just took my duvet, & never cold.

We have an out well posadas double with a 5cm vango adventurer sim on top, as comfy as my bed at home, should have invested years ago

We use a outwell Posada's double, no sim or anything, just a decent sleeping bag to sleep in. Comfy and a lot warmer than air but beds.
We got ours on line from Newquey camping at a very good price of £53.99. Which is by far the cheapest we could find anywhere be it in shop, or on-line.

We're just back, a week on a double posadas with 10cm SIMS, We found it creaky and if one moved, the other did too, we preferred the SIMS on the floor, more space to spread and not bother each other's space!
Only thing is I enjoyed the space under the bed to store things.

I'm being really dumb here but what is a SIMS? I am also looking for a more comfortable and warmer nights sleep. Had a million and one stupid air beds of all makes that deflate in the night. Have been looking at the carp beds as a bad nights sleep is the one thing that ruins camping for me. Would really like something wide too so I can turn over and fidget :)

Self Inflating Mat. It's like a heavy duty thin air mattress that has a foam core which expands to inflate the mat when you unscrew the nozzle.

Outwell Posadas double for us. We recently bought Alpkit Dozer SIMs, which we used for the first time last weekend. The SIMs made all the difference and we didn't feel each other's every movement as we did when we just had bags directly on the camp bed. Highly recommended as we were very warm and cozy.
