Hi all advice needed..just bought a excel side awning for my langley 500 we were going to use it as storage and to put the toilet in but there is large windows with no covers for them! I guess i thought it would be like the tent with roll up blinds as such we cant have a toilet in there.any ideas what i could use..one idea maybe to get some fabric cut to size and attach with velcro may have to glue velcro on anyone suggest glue.i dont want to melt my tent with it.or anyone got a better idea
You can get self adhesive Velcro in either strip or pre cut small round patches, they adhere pretty strongly.
I don't know whether they are safe to use on tent fabric though, I don't see why not and I'm sure I've read on these forums about people using Velcro for window blinds just like you are wanting.

Yea might give it a go..only reason i suggested glue is i have used sticky velcro on other stuff before and seemed to pull off.maybe just bad lot i got
I reckon the adhesive would stick pretty well to polyester tent fabric or the PVC windows but how it would stand up to condensation might be another matter. you might be better off sewing some tabs on.
Excessive heat that you can sometimes get in tents if the sun shines could affect the adhesive on the velcro. One possibility could be magnetic strips?
Would something like this work? Place a magnetic disc on the outside of the tent at the corner of the window then stick the curtain too it with another disc on the inside.
If the awning is a traditional "framed" type(as opposed to a lightweight "tent" type), is there any way you could just use curtain wire or elastic cord, just looped around the pole uprights?....
Magnets maybe an idea just a bit awkward having to have 2 people to do it one on inside one on outside..no its a tunnel tent poles on the outside unfortunately nothing at all to attach on the inside
Have a look at whether you could use this
i would look at whether you could attach a piece of curtain material to a cling on which then can attach to the tent material or via a bungie cord or guy line to a pole?

Oh I like the idea of those magnets. I want to make a mozzarella screen for the from of our Cabanon Guadeloupe. I bought the mesh fabric and will use the adhesive Velcro to fasten it over the top of the door pole, but the magnets would work well for holding the diagonal edge up to the canvas. Would they be strong enough to work through cotton canvas?
When we had an annex for our awning it was used for sleeping so I used the poles that formed the frame with tab top curtains that I lined with thermal/blackout material and this worked for over 4 years. Fantastic.
