Our empty bottle weighs 2.75kg and the whole bottle at the moment weighs 4.92kg

a full bottle is supposed to be 6.42kg and tare weight 3.7kg.

So please can someone explain in simple terms how I work out how much gas we have left please.

Thanks lots guys and gals

Agghhh

Being female ( or even blonde) doesn't make you unable to do simple maths
I have plenty of friends - both blonde and female - who not only manage to do simple maths but also have degrees in maths, science and engineering.
My girls are blond and both in the top set of maths and science. My daughter got a prize recently for being the best girl in the maths class (condescending or what) - could they not have given her a prize for being 3rd best in the class !!
You can't do maths because you were taught badly a school not because you are either blond or female !!
I know you think you are being funny and I will probably be accused of having no sense of humour or too pc but stereotypes are dangerous. Only 50% of state run secondary schools have any girls at all doing physics A level (despite the fact they do just as well as boys in science at GCSE) this then excludes them from a variety of high paying jobs.

swop to the lighter gas fibre bottles you can see the contents. Matter of interest no gas bottles of any sort are ever full. they are only filled to 80% full of liquid gas the other 20% is to allow the liquid to     re- gasify in the empty space for use.

Lol Katieep sadly in my case that is sadly true, yes my maths teacher told me that I had a mental block as far as maths is concerned at the age of 11 so that didn't help, moved me into arithmetic class at 14 which was meant to be easy, but wasn't.

Now I see numbers and it's like being dyslexic, can't really see past lots of figures, I can type what I think is ok, only to go back and check it and it clearly isn't' I have to send an invoice off to be paid amazingly it always comes back with question marks, in a normal week I sometimes manage to do 300hrs or 6000miles

Thankfully everyone that knows me steers me well clear of anything with numbers attached and the phone comes out if I have to split a bill.

Secondary education in the 60/70's for you.

So to recap.. Weigh your full 907 & make note of weight. Empty it will weigh 2.75kg less. From those 2 figures you can work out at any time the weight of the gas you have left.

Yep, but as already mentioned, there is no point in weighing the empty cylinder, as you will be handing that cylinder back for exchange.

So you can really only go of the Tare Weight as stamped on the cylinder as a rough guide.

Where did I say you are weighing an empty cylinder?

Lets try again...

Weigh full cylinder, say that is 6.45kg.

Subtract 2.75kg(the weight of the gas)= 3.7kg.

If at anytime during your fun camping trip you would like to know how much gas you have left...

Weigh cylinder. As an example, say it weighs 5kg?

Subtract 3.7 from 5 = 1.3.

You have around 1.3kg of gas left in bottle...

Or,just pour a kettle of boiling water over the bottle. You will see a line appear after a minute which tells you the gas level.
