I'm just after a little advice. We've bought a fiamma caravanstore but don't know whether to travel with it in the van or in the awning rail.
Has anyone had any experience of towing with the canopy in the awning rail and has it done any damage to the side of the van, moved around a lot or even fallen out(!)
It would be totally pointless having it if you had to keep taking it down from the rail. The time they do cause damage is when they have been left erected in high wind.
I have always travelled with it in the awning rail and had no problems at all however, at the end of the season, I remove it and suspend it from a couple of hooks fixed into the Soffit of my Bungalow where it is out of the way and sheltered from the worst of the winter weather.

Like the others have said, no problem leaving it on the van. However, I would recommend use of a pair of awning rail stops (supplied with new Caravanstores) which clamp into the rail either side of the zipped bag and prevent its movement in the channel.
Took mine out earlier this year to put on my new caravan and found several splits in the material that was in the awning rail and could not be seen from ground level or when in use. I've managed to glue it back together and it will go in the awning rail where it will stay again
Glad to hear keeping the caravanstore in the awning rail doesn't do any damage when travelling. Its in the van at the minute but will get the husband to pop it in the rail.
