Just bought an alko wheel lock . Been to fit it on the caravan expecting to find a yellow cap under a grey seal, only to find a bolt inside the receiver which we cannot remove. The caravan is a 2009 lunar quasar 462
. Any ideas how to get this bolt out ?
From memory, I seem to recall that you have to contact Al-Ko to obtain the necessary tool.
Suggest you give them a ring for advice.
I think the bolt is there to stop you using the receiver with non Al-Ko products.

It was an option on our van and we had a yellow plastic screw in the receiver. No bolt though. Hope you get sorted. According to AlKo if you don't have the yellow Bing you don't have a receiver and you need their plus kit.
There was a time around 2009 when Alko fitted a blanking screw into their 'receiver' to prevent competitors utilizing them to fit their own (usually cheaper) wheel locks. They would supply the owner of the caravan with the special 'key' to remove said screws when, and only if, they purchased the Alko Secure wheel lock. There were quite a range of possible keys so they had a silver seal across the unit which contained a code number to quote.
As you are the proud owner of an Alko wheel lock it should be relatively simple to get it fitted, ring Alko and explain the situation.

Teach a man to fish and you can get rid of him for a whole weekend.
The yellow thing is just a blanking plug to stop rubbing getting in the housing for your locking unit. A bolt inside the receiver means its never been used. I had the same last year and like you contacted Alko with the details and they send the correct 'key' to get the bolt out. Was happy with the service from Alko but do not think they use the phone only email. Loads of info on their web site.
