We have one of these which we have yet to use but it's there if we ever need it, normally find a tree or fence good enough to chain ours to.

Thanks for all the replies.
In the end I went for these.

I purchased this from there eBay shop. It turned up with a few cosmetic defects. I contacted them and they said they would send a replacement and to throw it away. The replacement never turned up, wouldn't reply to my messages, opened a case through eBay and got a full refund. I didn't throw the old one away as it was still useable and only cosmetic. So I got it for free.

I just use a bright yellow hitch lock, bright yellow wheel lock, and then position it at the back of my pitch. This isn't always hard to get to but most camping folk are good people, and being all in the same boat with tents being easy to get in to I find everyone looks out for each other. Might look into a motion alarm though as I don't normally have a tree nearby - got a thing about trees and tents.

What sort of alarms are you using as I can only find house type motion alarms?

Aldi sometimes have the motion alarm padlocks, which make for an additional bit of security.

I have just bought a HILKA 1.8m lock and chain from Amazon, its spec. is very like the majority of motorcycle chains but half the price.

I have a Lider Saraogos trailer with side extensions and ABS lid with bars. I store mine in garage and have wheel clamp & hitch lock. Trailer insurance invalidated if you don't have a wheel lock. Use both on-site plus bought an Almax security chain for when I'm in France, managed to source one on ebay for about £20 quid less (unused)....it's a heavy thing but no bolt cutters going to get through that.
