Yep, we take a satellite dish with us to France each year, we are on the main campsite for 15 nights or so, I mostly use it for UK Radio, but we also take a small 16" LED Telly, mostly to laugh at the weather back home!
We always use a set of of wireless headphones each, so that the sound does not disturb other campers.
I should think the sound of Radio 4 will pale into insignificance for the irritiation it may cause to other campers when compared to that HUGE Gilbertini dish blocking out their sun Francais
Time for a nice brew of Aldi Alcafe and a fresh baked croissant methinks
Was looking at getting one to keep the kids entertained in the mornings before we head off out they up normally by 530 so wanted something to keep them occupied until it's time to head off out we would use it mainly uk as well as planning a few trips abroad
Normally a 40cm (wide) dish will pull in the Freesat channels throughout mainland UK however, as soon as you start heading down through France you need a bigger dish.
Even in the south of France an 80cm (wide) dish may not always pull in all the Freesat channels depending on your exact location. (ask Francais).
Satellite in Spain can be a whole different ball game usually resulting in a Sky contract.
So decide what you want before paying out your hard earned cash.
Read all you can on the "Sat4Vans" web site (see link in previous post).
When you're ready we can post a link to a UKCampsite article which will help you aim your dish. (It's not quite as simple as you might first think!)

Yep, David funny how a 1m Dish, does not appear that large when on a camping pitch, at least it does the job and pulls in all the Freesat channels down at Frejus on the Cote d Azur.
The Western end of the French Med is a problem region, upwards of 1.8m required at that end.
Enjoy that Coffee, I am passing by a store next month near Birmingham that has stock, so will pick some Aldi Whole Bean Instant up then.
My at work 11am ritual is a cup of Whole Bean Instant, and a Aldi crossiant, those in the packs of 8 they keep for ages, on the pan au chocolat at the moment and Lavazza Intenso Whole Bean Instant ummm!
