Hi all,

I need a single camping bed (off ground type) that is both light, small and quick to put up and down.

Its for my 10 year old with a view he is only going to get bigger and heavier.

He has an thin air mattress and good sleeping bag to use with it.

Wow that is expensive.

I would love to change over from an airbed to a camp bed but they all seem really heavy and use too much room when packed up.

My 9 year old (and her 2 brothers) all sleep on rollmats. They have been banned from getting any bigger!!

Frazzle when my kids were young it was roll mats all the way. Reason being that they used to play in their bedrooms when it was raining outside and they had a much more stable surface to play with their toy cars, of which they had million or two it seemed. An airbed is no good for that. When they got to about twelve/thirteen (my two are a year apart) they wanted and got single airbeds.

A campbed out of Decathlon or Argos will set the OP back £40 or so but the downside is the pack is bulky. The more lightweight options as the Helinox are very pricey.

JoggingHippo, looked them up on Amazon and the reviews are not so kind. I appreciate your advice though.

I still think the one from decathlon is the one for us. Reviews are really good, its sturdy and off the ground. HOPEFULLY will double as a seat for all three kids.

Was in Decathlon yesterday and the day before the camping stuff gets bumped to front of shop I got the L100 with a £10 discount. LOL, so pleased, they had meant to remove the sale ticket as till had full price and the manager was NOT happy having to give me it at the sale price....

The bed was too firm for my 10 year old so had to add an airbed on top. NOt sure how it would do for an adult.

We have the possadas I find it too hard on it's own so have an airbed on top, also making it almost as tall as our bed at home,but brill for storing stuff underneath

We will use the camp bed as a bench seat for kids during feeding times.

We used the campbed to store all our cloths, shoes and stuff sack type items.
