I have searched for some advice on this but all the threads seem fairly old for this one?
can anyone recommend a decent size/value cool box? at present we have one main we use for food and drinks. I would like to keep both separate as drinks as used more frequently than food and want to avoid opening it all the time.
Halfords seem to have a pretty good price on a cool box but it is based on ambient temperature so may not keep really cold in summer?
Thanks

I like that it has a separate smaller lid which could be used for taking milk and drinks out etc... I was looking at these but not sure if you were paying more for the Outwell badge/look?

The cheap electric coolboxes are ok'ish provided weather not too hot, ie no more than low 20s UK summer weather & even then need to be used sensibly if you want stuff really cold. Technique is to load box at night with all stuff for next day. If you add, say drink cans at ambient temp during day then this will raise temp of everything in box.
Otherwise you need a proper camping fridge, this could be box type 3way, ie mains/gas/or 12v only while transporting in car. These are ok in all but hottest weather, ie 30deg.
Or best of all a compressor fridge & cheap enough option if you just get a £70 table top from Argos, domestic fridges are not really designed to be transported but plenty of campers use these ok, you must be on ehu, obviously.
Otherwise spend loads, £300 on a Waeco portable compressor fridge.
What about a standard 'picnic' coolbox or bag you have at home?
You can fill it with a couple of frozen juice boxes (1 litre size) and use it like your food coolbox. Fill up with drinks when needed. You could pre cool drinks using cold water and a bucket if you are on site. Use ice blocks to keep cool.
Seems like you may need a portable Fridge Mobicool (Waeco) FR35 probably the best buy around, if you need 12/24v capability, cheaper than the Waeco CoolFreeze models but does much the same thing.
If mains only will suffice then the Mobicool C40 is brilliant.
At the end of the day a proper compressor Fridge like the above, will never disappoint, in comparison to a Thermo Electric cool-box.
