do any of the currently popular manufactures make full size air awnings. We are shortly due to pick up our new Coachman 575VIP and have noticed the space between the door frame and adjacent front side window is only 100mm. This doesn't leave much room for the vertical pad running down the front end of the porch types, if trying to avoid letting it run down across the window. It can't go forward of the window as(like most modern vans) the awning rail starts to drop down below horizontal before it passes the forward end of the side window frame. So only answer at present, is a full size awning.
I have never heard of a full size air awning but using a porch awning can be achieved as I have seen a Kampa 390 awning erected on a Coachman Pastiche which is identical (just the interior furnishings differ). However, it does narrowly fit between the door and adjacent window but it can be done.
The best solution is to try a 260 (twin section) or 390 (triple section) and you will see that it is possible.
We have a Lunar Clubman SI, which appears very similar to your Coachman,

And we have a Kampa Air Pro 390 and it fits beautifully between door and window, the window opens, you can see the handles in the photo even though it looks like the awning is over the window; which it isn't.

Hi Tango55, the Pastiche Range & Vision range are the same bodies, but the VIP is different. Its actually slightly wider & the door is closer to the nearest window, than on the other ranges. There is only a 100mm gap between the door frame & window edge.
Vango Kalari 520 looked very nice, it has some extra depth. I really liked it. Considering for our van. Never thought Vango did them so it was a bit of a surprise.
We have the 575 VIP and we put our air waning to the left of the window. You have to get right against the edge to make sure you have the height. I think we'll give issym's solution a try next time. We didn't try that is it just looked too tight.
Thanks, that looks great, think we have seen one of those at the NEC show, I remember the day glow straps and large windows, which we liked but seen so many I can't be sure. Will have a look at that one again.
Thanks for your comments graham, that at least sounds like it's possible to go over the window. We have a couple of porch awnings available to us, we hope to try out this weekend. They are not air types though. But I'll post how we get on.
