Hi all

I know a lot of you have cobbs and recommend using heat beads for that as they give off more heat. But what about a normal BBQ.....are they any good.  We've only got a small one we take camping but want to cook for extra people soon. Will the heat beads keep hot longer enabling you to cook more for longer? Also I know you arn't suposed to use so many. Do you just dot them about on the bottom of the BBQ, or do you have to have full coverage!! I havn't even seen the things so dont know how big they are?

Thanks

Sharon x

Hi Sharon

Heat Beads are great in a standard BBQ too. They produce more heat so you don't need to put too many in and they burn hot for ages.

Will the heat beads keep hot longer enabling you to cook more for longer? - Yes

Do you just dot them about on the bottom of the BBQ, or do you have to have full coverage!! - Use about the same number as you would normal charcoal briquettes - they are about half the size of standard Briquettes.

HTH

Hi, I am glad someone else asked this question, as this was some thing I was going to ask, but what I was wondering is how do you put them out and how do you dry them for re - use ?

Hi there I recently have bought a Cobb and used a couple of times, they recommend that if you want to put the beads out you can put them in water and then re-use them again or just leave them to burn out and use them as a heater, to get them to dry out I think that if you left them they should be dried out by the next day ready to be used again.
