Hi everyone
New to using electric within our tent and am looking at this http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008KV6TW4/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_2?pf_rd_p=569136327&pf_........
Would this be ok for a C&CC site and has anyone any experience of these, please?
Thank you

That is what we have and it is just perfect.

Only difficulty was having to open it up and swap the wires round to make it work in France.
Neighbour on adjoining pitch helped me.

No need to open it up to work in France,if you did it to alter the polarity it is totally unnecessary!

Whichever you have there is no need to change anything for it to work in France ... apart from possibly adding an adaptor for a 2 pin connection.

I don't think the OP needs it for foreign campsites actually as they have stated it's for a C&CC site which the Maypole MCB in rockster's link is typical of what all major camping outlets sell. However, it would be advisable for the OP to clarify if they will ever need to use it abroad in the future in order for people to offer further advice.

I would also remind/advise the OP, that if they do use a lead on a reel, make sure that it's fully unwound before use, so as to stop it overheating...

(..Although it didn't quite "melt", we had a trailing lead get very hot when I'd left it partially coiled up and just kicked under the MH... )

Thank you all for your input and responses, much appreciated. We don't intend to use it abroad, so this seems an ideal choice for us.

Thanks everyone.

Was in my local branch of Millets earlier and noticed they have an ehu for £29.00 ... only a 15m lead though.

rockster post, this is the way to go. We used to use this before we turned to the dark side (caravan)just keep it off the ground incase of high water.

It seems to have the same 3 trip switches on the back as the normal type Maypole one linked to. Does that mean it does have an MCB and RCD?

I think it is a smart EHU unit...a little expensive but then it has extras on it such as the reel and USB charging connectors.

I would also suggest unreeling all the cable before using and lay any excess on the ground outside the tent.
