I have always been disappointed with selections when it comes to camp lighting. Either harsh white lights or so dim and dangerously warm.
Can anyone suggest any remote control lighting to hang around the edge of the tent.
Or what does everyone else use?

B & M Discount store has a rather good Table lamp, which can be hung up also. It works from 4 d cell batteries, and has worked well from last Sunday up to Thursday night without losing its light value whilst we were away. If I could, I would have, posted a picture. But details of it are....Made by Rolson,....24 LED...Patio and Camping lantern. At £7.99 each they are good value. Just google the mane of it and you will see the item on the many places that pop up. Most of them more expensive than B & M.

Make sure they are warm white not cool/cold white.

Slightly orange tinge to the warm white ones.

Wrong time of year now, but the £ shops had some decent lights around xmas time.

I like the Qbis warm white berry lights on Amazon. I have a string of 20. I find they give quite a good light. I use them in conjuntion with 2 'Scout LED' lights which have a vintage look and are suprisingly good, again a warm light. link

For EHU I prefer a table lamp from home, or even two. I like the non shattering light bulbs as they never heat up so much you can't touch them, and more importantly if they get knocked against something they won't burn it. The ikea 'plastic' type low energy light bulbs are ideal.

We are totally new to camping, but after trailing through lots of reviews etc Ive had a look at fairy lights also.

I found these ones on amazon, they are sold as 100 lights on 10m wire strips and use 3 aa batteries. Reviews are excellent which is a bonus for me as I love reviews, and Ive used the copper wire fairy lights in the passed which have lasted me years just a lot smaller than these ones.

We have a set of these ... not cheap but has a timer so they can come on at dusk and go of automatically if you wish. Double as tree lights for Christmas!
