Help please -Hello
I have bought a good, used 2007 model Outdoor Revolution Porchlite Plus awning that needs some replacement poles. The original top pole is 9mm diameter and the whole thing has been overstressed such that the support that it gives is significantly reduced; I am unable to find 9mm poles and I need advice on whether to go undersized (8.5mm) and risk that being not strong enough to support the awning or oversized (9.5mm) and risk that being too rigid to bend sufficiently to avoid overstressing the joints.
I also need to replace some of the upright pole sections but these are 12mm diameter which is also unavailable so should I replace the entire pole with 11mm or 12.7 (the pole reduces from 12mm to 11mm just under halfway along its length.
Thank you
