Hi, what is it about a four season awning that makes it four season? Or put another way are they made to withstand snow, wind and heavy rain - if put up and secured properly of course? Ongoing discussion about when to erect awning.
We are currently looking for a new one, I didn't know there was a difference in awnings before our one was damaged in the storm at Easter !
But from what I can make out so far it is the sun that the roof lining is more resistant to !

I hadn't thought about the roof lining being more sun resistant. I wouldn't have bought a 4-season awning on that basis. I live in
Scotland lol. I was wondering if the poles were stronger or what? We have added extra strengthening poles across the roof.
A 4 season awning by definition is one that the makers claim is suitable for permanent erection. After that there is no specification that is set in stone so one needs to inspect awning before purchase or at least look at the spec.
One would expect a 4 season awning to be of heavy material with heavy poles & roll down covers for windows but in the death no awning can be resistant to any storm & all canvas material, natural or synthetic degrades eventually so even a 4 season awning will last longer if taken down in winter if caravan is unused.
