Like you we BBQ and have had 2 different sorts of charcoal ones, fed up with the mess we looked for a gas one.

So last year we treated ourselves to the cadac grillogas, not the huge one but it's still quite big, rrp £80 got it for £50 from go outdoors plus had a £10 voucher too.

This was at the end of the season so they had a good deal on it, they're £99 at present. we also liked the Webber go,but it was too expensive for us.

So keep searching online one is bound to come up on offer

I'm struggling to work out the difference between the safari chef and the grillogas. They seem to be similar prices and both lightweight - what are the pros and cons of each?

The grillogas is much taller so you use it standing up whereas the safari chef is shorter and you have to crouch down. Also check out the diameter of the cooking surface. I think the Safari is 30cm and the Grillogas 37cm. Not sure but the safari might have more cooking plate options.

..but being basically a gas ring, with a griddle plate sat on top, neither are what you'd call a "BBQ"..

..and 100 quid does seem a lot, just to do what an inexpensive(& versatile)gas stove & griddle pan will do.

Pity you live so far from me, I have a gas BBQ on legs that I bought from B and Q,I fitted the part that clips into the external gas point on the van,I've used it twice but no longer want it cos it's a pain to clean,it's free to anyone that can collect,

I'm struggling to decide what cooker/BBQ to get, just purchased a tent so looking at what the best options are.

I love to BBQ (gas rather than coal) but also need a some sort of cooker., I don't want to spend £100's but thinking of a fairly low priced cooker, but also a reasonable priced BBQ.

Looking at the Campingaz Party Grill, but has its limitations if your cooking and need to use a pan or kettle.

They last one season as they rust, not really a good option, but cheap pay twice
